Nature Mentoring

Sessions happen outdoors, in real woodland rather than a room. We walk, we move, we do practical things with our hands, and we talk properly. The work is not about fixing anyone. It is about building trust through a shared environment and a consistent presence over time, so that things have room to settle and shift at their own pace.
It suits anyone feeling out of step with themselves: people carrying stress, burnout or a sense of disconnection, those navigating a change or transition, and young people unsure of their direction. Sam works with women and men alike, and often with neurodivergent people who do better at a gentler pace. It tends to suit home-educated young people who need grounded guidance, and anyone looking for a healthier, steadier sense of who they are.
Over time the work builds confidence through real experience, strengthens self-awareness and the ability to communicate, grows emotional resilience, and brings some clarity of direction. It encourages self-responsibility without shame, a bit more practical capability, and real relief from the constant pull of a screen.
Families, schools and youth organisations are all welcome to get in touch, as well as individuals. The first step is simply a conversation.
Who this is for
- Anyone feeling burnt out, stretched thin or disconnected
- Women and men navigating a transition or change
- Young people finding their footing and their direction
- Neurodivergent people who do better at a gentler pace
- Home-educated young people who need grounded guidance
- Anyone wanting a steadier relationship with themselves and the natural world
How it works: Hybrid or face-to-face: one-to-one time outdoors, with online or telephone sessions in between where they help. Usually weekly or fortnightly over time, and Sam is mobile across Bedfordshire, Sussex and the wider South of England.
Where to start
The first step is a gentle conversation, with no commitment, to see whether this is a good fit. Everything is shaped around the individual.
