Immersives

The hide tanning camp is three immersive days in the Sussex countryside, learning the ancient craft of turning raw deerskin into soft, usable buckskin. This is not a stand-back-and-observe course. You work through the whole process side by side, hands-on from start to finish, and ideally leave with your own piece of buckskin and a real feel for a craft older than almost anything else we do.
Parent and child days are part of this family of experiences too, and now have a page of their own: shared time in the woods for any grown-up and child, whoever you are, with no experience needed.
Longer immersives go deeper still: rites of passage, wanderings, and one, two and three-day journeys of skill and insight, including work in places such as Hoathly Hill. These are for anyone seeking a deliberate marker or threshold in their life, with steady guidance and good company throughout.
Everything is shaped around the people who come. Numbers are kept small so that everyone gets proper attention, and the emphasis is always on doing rather than watching. If something here speaks to you, get in touch and we can find the right fit.
